Product Review - Titanium wood stove 72g £20

My “cooking” skills when I am camping actually only means that I boil water for drinks or to add to dried food. Especially when I am bike touring, do I really need to take my Trangia set when I am short of space and weight capacity?

I’d been pondering this from time to time before I visited the Cycle Touring Festival in Clitheroe. That was when I saw this stove as Joe and his mum gave a lightweight presentation and this was one of the items they mentioned. Joe, who is only 18, has his own online store and this is something that he sells on it:

I doubt that I will burn twigs or whatever in it but when Joe mentioned that you can fit a Trangia burner in it my ears pricked up! Also, if I do run out of fuel on a trip, it’s good to know that I can use it as a micro log burner! Also, as they mention on the website, if you fly somewhere you won’t be able to take gas canisters or liquid fuel with you.

It only arrived today so I haven’t used it but, as you can see in the picture, a Trangia burned does fit inside it.

As well as its light weight it flat packs into the 9 x 8cm bag, provided and as shown in the picture, what a difference to my Trangia kit!

Later I might add a 650ml titanium mug, then I can also leave my Trangia kettle at home!
